Message from the Principal:
As we begin the new school year and I resume the duties of Principal at Bee Meadow School, I look forward to continuing to promote our history of excellence. I am pleased to rejoin the Bee Meadow “family” with its exceptional staff, promising students and positive, supportive parents. Together this team will foster and enhance the educational progress of our students and ensure their success.
Each year we select specific goals for our building and this year we have decided to continue to expand our recycling efforts as our first goal. Our second goal will be to utilize the computerized, formative assessment Learnia Program to measure and track student progress in the primary grades as part of a district initative. The Learnia Program will give our teachers individual pre- and post-test results instantly and
allow us greater ability to address student needs in preparation for required State of New Jersey tests.
Another exciting addition to our academic program for the year will be the incorporation of new materials into our science instruction in Grades K –5. Each grade level will implement units from the Full Option Science System (FOSS) materials to augment our current science curriculum. We are excited by these new and different offerings.
As was the case back in 1998-99, when Bee Meadow School was recognized by the United Stated Department of Education as a National School of Excellence (Blue Ribbon School), we continue to exhibit those characteristics that won us that award and seek to offer even more educational opportunities for our diverse population.
Welcome Bee Meadow Family!
Mr. Gary R. Murphy
Interim Principal
